What is Compliance?
Computer system compliance is the state of meeting system settings which have been mandated. If the computer settings meet the standard, then the system is said to be compliant. When referring to the word compliance, it is the state of being in accordance with established guidelines and requirements, or the process of becoming so.
There are numerous compliance regulations, some which span multiple industries, and others which are industry specific. Some are mandated by law, while others are mandated by the industry as a part of doing business. Below is a list of some of the different compliance terms you might be exposed to.
